Dr Raphael Chae is taking new patients and still has availability on his books. Dr Melanie Dorrington (Chief GP of the ACT) is consulting at Watson one day per week. New faces, same friendly and professional care.
Busy from Monday to Friday but need to see a GP? Book in for a Saturday or Sunday morning consultation. Practice renovations are now just around the corner so we can grow with you - stay tuned for updates!
If unwell when visiting us in person, please put on a mask when you come in (supplied at reception).
Face to face is best for care, but Telehealth appointments can save you time for issues that don’t need physical examination. Medicare rebates apply if you’ve seen us in the last 12 months. Telehealth also keeps infectious illnesses from spreading and you can discuss things like eligibility for COVID-19 antiviral medication if you have tested positive for COVID.
MyMedicare registration aims to improve long-term health outcomes. Regular patients should register with us to access all of your Medicare benefits such as long telehealth appointments, Chronic Condition Management Plans and Mental Health Treatment Plans. Self-register using MyGov or the Medicare ExpressPlus phone app, or speak to Reception for help.
Influenza and COVID-19 vaccines are always available. Flu vaccines are free for patients aged <5, 65+, or adults with a chronic health condition (eg diabetes or asthma), or privately for only $25.
COVID-19 boosters are recommended every 6 months for those aged 75+ and annually if aged 65+. Adults aged 18+ can get an optional annual booster anytime. Just ask reception, your GP or our nurse.
All doctors at WGP are independent practitioners who privately bill their patients. Our doctor’s books are currently closed for new patients except for Dr Chae.
Due to the need to maintain practice viability, our billing policy cannot change to increase bulk billing further. No new bulk-billed patients can be accepted until government policies change on primary care funding. Fees will need to be adjusted periodically to cover inflation and will also increase if our independent GPs become subject to Payroll Tax in the ACT.
